Getting started
Open NuType, grant microphone permission, configure a speech provider, test the connection if needed, then use your shortcut to dictate and insert cleaned text into the current field.
Permissions
NuType may request microphone permission for recording, speech recognition permission when Apple Speech is selected, and accessibility or automation permission for global trigger and text insertion. You can revoke these in macOS System Settings.
AI and ASR providers
NuType can work with Apple Speech, local ASR such as oMLX, or external providers you configure. API keys are stored in macOS Keychain. Use the provider connection test before relying on an external endpoint.
Purchase and restore
NuType Pro is unlocked through Apple In-App Purchase. Purchase and restore actions are available in the Premium settings section, and payments are processed by Apple.
Data and privacy
NuType does not operate a developer-owned backend, AI proxy, analytics SDK, advertising SDK, or third-party login. Audio and text are processed locally or sent directly to the provider you configure.
Contact support
If you need help, email jxswcy@gmail.com. Include your macOS version, NuType version, selected provider, model, and the exact error message shown in the app.
